Reviewing an auto renewal in Hudson?

Start with your current declarations page and renewal offer. I can compare the available options and explain differences in coverage limits, deductibles and policy details. A lower price can come with different coverage, so we will look beyond the premium.

You can start the website request with your contact details and coverage choice. I will follow up for the driver and vehicle information needed to prepare quotes. A comparison does not guarantee a lower premium or an offer from every company.

The basics

Everyday cars are parked along a quiet residential street.

Know the minimums

To register a car in Florida, you need $10,000 of PIP and $10,000 of property damage liability. That’s the floor, not a full plan.

US-19 is busy

It’s the main road through Hudson, so many of us spend real time on it. Think about what you’d want your policy to do after a bad day there.

Your car isn’t covered by default

The state minimums don’t fix your own car. Comprehensive and collision do that, and they’re optional for most drivers.

Prices differ by company

Two companies can rate the same driver very differently. That’s the whole reason to compare.

What Florida requires, and what it leaves out

Here’s the short version. Florida wants $10,000 of personal injury protection (PIP) and $10,000 of property damage liability before you can register a car.

PIP covers 80% of your medical bills and 60% of lost wages, up to $10,000, no matter who caused the crash. That helps you and your passengers. It doesn’t help the other driver.

The minimums also don’t pay for injuries you cause to other people, and they don’t fix your own car. That surprises folks.

Bodily injury liability, uninsured motorist, comprehensive and collision are optional add-ons for most drivers. If you finance your car, the lender usually requires comprehensive and collision.

What auto insurance has been running around Hudson

For one vehicle on a six-month policy, liability only has averaged about $1,420 in the area, with most between $700 and $1,680. Full coverage has averaged about $2,380, with most between $1,370 and $2,680. Those are averages from quotes in the area over the past 36 months, not a quote for you.

Your own number depends on your driving record, your car, your coverage and the company. It varies by company, and sometimes by a lot.

How to request a Hudson auto insurance quote

Start the online request with your contact details. For our follow-up, have these ready so we can compare your current policy with the available options:

  • Your declarations page showing current coverage limits and deductibles
  • Your renewal date and renewal premium, if available
  • The year, make and model of each vehicle, plus any loan or lease
  • Who drives each vehicle and how it is used

Keep driver’s license numbers and other sensitive details out of the website form. I’ll explain how to provide anything else needed when we speak. A comparison does not guarantee savings or bind coverage.

Questions I get

Do I only need the Florida minimums?

They’re what the state requires to register a car. They don’t cover injuries you cause or damage to your own car, so many drivers add more. I can walk you through the options.

What does PIP actually pay?

It pays 80% of your medical bills and 60% of lost wages, up to $10,000, regardless of fault.

Will my lender want more than the minimums?

Usually, yes. A lender typically requires comprehensive and collision on a financed car.

Can you help with an SR-22 or FR-44?

Yes, I help with those filings. Which companies offer them, and at what price, varies.

Do you work outside Florida?

No. I’m licensed only in Florida.
