newer neighborhoods, same Florida rules
Home and Auto Insurance in Trinity, FL
Trinity is a planned community in southwest Pasco, close to the Pinellas and Hillsborough lines. It’s southeast of Hudson along State Road 54.
I’m a licensed independent insurance broker. That means I can shop more than one company for you, explain what you’re actually buying, and stick around after the quote.

Homeowners insurance
Homeowners insurance in Trinity
If your home is on the newer side, that usually works in your favor. Newer construction tends to do better on a wind mitigation inspection, and more companies are willing to write it. The thing to watch is the coverage amount. It should be based on what it’d cost to rebuild the house today, not what you paid for it.
When I quote a home, these are the first things a company wants to know:
- When the roof was last replaced.
- What the home is built from, block or frame.
- If it’s an older home, whether the plumbing, electrical and AC have been updated.
- Whether there’s a wind mitigation report.
- Any claims on the home, including before you owned it.
Home insurance prices around here
For a ballpark, figure on about $4,100 a year on average for a homeowners policy in the area, with most between $2,420 and $5,200. Every Florida home policy also carries a separate hurricane deductible, usually 2% to 10% of the dwelling limit, which you pay first on a hurricane claim.
Those are averages from quotes in the area over the past 36 months. Yours could be higher or lower. The only way to know is to quote it.

Auto insurance
Auto insurance in Trinity
State Road 54, Little Road and Trinity Boulevard handle most of the driving. If you’ve got more than one car in the driveway, I’ll price multi-car and home-and-auto together to see what works out better.
Florida’s minimum is $10,000 of personal injury protection (PIP) and $10,000 of property damage liability. Notice what’s missing: nothing in there pays for someone you hurt, and nothing fixes your car. Bodily injury liability, uninsured motorist, comprehensive and collision are all add-ons. I’ll price them so you can choose.
A ballpark on auto insurance
On a one-car, six-month policy, the area average has been about $1,420 for liability only and about $2,380 for full coverage. Most liability quotes fall between $700 and $1,680, and most full coverage quotes between $1,370 and $2,680.
That’s based on quotes in the area over the past 36 months. It’s a starting point. I’ll get you a real number.

Flood and sinkhole
What about flood and sinkholes in Trinity?
People in Trinity often assume flood insurance is a coast thing. It’s not. Flood damage isn’t covered by a home policy anywhere in Florida, and heavy rain can put water in a house that’s miles from the beach. Outside high-risk zones it’s usually optional.
I can pull the flood zone for your address, or you can find it on FEMA’s flood map site. There’s usually a 30-day waiting period on a National Flood Insurance Program policy, so don’t leave it for the last minute.
On sinkholes: don’t assume you’re covered. Florida law requires a home policy to cover “catastrophic ground cover collapse,” and that’s a narrow definition. Broader sinkhole coverage costs extra, and the company can require an inspection before adding it. Ask me which one your policy has.

What people in Trinity ask me
Do you have an office in Trinity?
No. I’m based in Hudson. I work with people in Trinity by phone, text, email and online, so you don’t have to drive anywhere to get a quote or make a change.
Do I need flood insurance in Trinity?
It depends on your address. Lenders usually only require it in high-risk flood zones. But homeowners insurance doesn’t cover flood anywhere, so it’s worth getting a price even when it’s optional.
Will an older roof keep me from getting insured?
Not automatically. Companies have different cutoffs for different roof types, and Florida law puts limits on denying a policy over roof age alone. Send me the year it was put on.
What do you need from me for a quote?
For auto: who’s driving, their license numbers, and the vehicles. For home: the address, the year it was built, the year the roof was replaced, and any inspection reports you have. If you don’t have all of it, that’s fine. I can start with what you’ve got.
My rate went up. Can you help?
That’s most of what I do. Send me your current policy and I’ll shop it against the companies I work with. I can’t promise it’ll come out lower, but you’ll know where you stand.
